Hyatt redesigns Leverage for small-business hotel bookings
Synopsis
Hyatt has redesigned its Leverage platform for eligible small and midsize businesses, bringing hotel bookings and travel administration together. The practical test is whether its preferred rates suit your trips—not whether the booking screen looks newer.
What happened
Hyatt announced the redesign on 30 October. The platform centralizes reservations, spending and payments, with preferred rates at participating Hyatt hotels. Enrollment is free, and participating travelers need World of Hyatt membership.
The announcement cites an annual participation requirement of 50 room nights. However, Hyatt’s FAQ explicitly waives that threshold for 2026; assessment may resume in 2027. That is a temporary waiver, not a permanent removal of the requirement.
Impact
For eligible businesses, the immediate appeal is simpler administration and another rate to compare. Availability varies by property, and preferred pricing is not a guarantee of the cheapest stay. Discounts exclude taxes and additional charges, so compare the full booking terms before committing.
Eligible stays may earn World of Hyatt points, but points and rewards cannot pay for services through the Leverage portal. Existing users should also retain their original confirmations: legacy reservations do not appear in the new portal.
The Snob’s Take
A tidier booking system is useful; it is not a savings strategy by itself. Compare the actual rate and conditions, use the 2026 waiver if your business qualifies, and keep those old confirmations somewhere less ambitious than the new portal.
